Frequently Asked Questions for Marble Bowl Sinks

How are the Marble Sinks made?

Each sink is individually carved out of a single piece of stone by hand, by one of our skilled artists, following one of our many designs. While each sink will be generally identical size wise with respect to the next one on any given design, they are all hand carved from different pieces of stone and therefore unique. The carving process can take several days to complete. Finally, the sink is cleaned, inspected and packaged for shipment.

Are drain assemblies available?

Yes, we currently stock brass and copper units in six different finishes that complement our sinks beautifully. Other finishes can be special ordered. The hole will accommodate any standard bath lavatory drain assembly. If you purchase a drain assembly elsewhere, be sure it is one meant for a sink with no overflow.

Will the finish change on the sink?

Not really; it is a piece of stone and therefore stands up well to use. The sink should be sealed with a good quality stone sealer prior to first use. Stone sealer is available from The SinkWorks.

How do you clean the sink?

The sink should only be cleaned with mild soap and water or a good quality marble cleaner (available from The SinkWorks). No harsh abrasives or scrubbing pads are necessary and should not be used.
