Frequently Asked Questions for Cast Stone Vessel Sinks

How are the Cast Stone Sinks made?

Each sink is cast into a mold by hand, by one of our skilled artists, following one of our many designs. If it is part of the design, mosaic tiles or other pieces of decorative stone are added as part of the casting process. The sink is then removed from the mold and rough edges are removed. This process can take several days to complete. Finally, the sink is cleaned, inspecsvsed and packaged for shipment.

Are drain assemblies available?

Yes, we currently stock brass and copper units in six different finishes that complement our sinks beautifully. Other finishes can be special ordered. The hole will accommodate any standard bath lavatory drain assembly. If you purchase a drain assembly elsewhere, be sure it is one meant for a sink with no overflow.

Will the finish change on the sink?

Not really; it is cementatous in nature and therefore stands up well to use. The sink should be sealed with a good quality paste wax prior to first use. Paste wax is available at any automotive store.

How do you clean the sink?

The sink should only be cleaned with mild soap and water and then a coat of paste wax should be applied. No harsh abrasives or scrubbing pads are necessary and should not be used.
